Dedicated to the memory of Robert Wills

Our Dad recently passed away, after being diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier this year.

During our Dad’s illness we had the most wonderful support, both practical and emotional, from Marie Curie & St Barnabus. They brought us an unbelievable amount of comfort at a difficult time and we would love to help other families have the same opportunity to access this care.

Our Father spent a huge amount of time supporting a number of charitable causes, especially in his local community of Uppingham. One of his many passions was sailing, particularly along the Norfolk Coast. This led to a lifelong association with the Royal National Lifeboat Insitution (RNLI), who do a great job saving lives at sea.

Any donations in his memory would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your support

Thoughts

I have only just heard the very sad news that Robert has passed away last year. To his family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Robert for over 15 years (as I ran the BTAA leathergoods association). Robert was the Chairman/director of the board and I couldn’t have wished for a more supportive, kind and considerate boss. He will be sorely missed by everyone who ever knew him, I am very sure of that... Robert gave his time tirelessly to our non-for profit organisation and supported the Association for more than 40 years, as did his father before him. I hope in time, lovely memories of your lives together will come flooding back. He spoke of his family often, and I knew how proud he was of his children. We have also lost my husband/father suddenly and unexpectedly recently, id like to think Robert is showing Ray the ropes! Diana fiveash Birmingham.

I’ve just read on Facebook that it was Roberts funeral on Wednesday my thoughts are with the family at this sad time. Robert use to be a regular with carol at Hackney’s Bistro when I was a chef there, he was a lovely man and always thanked us for the nice food and would always ask how we were. He will be a big loss to Uppingham.

It will be very strange not seeing Robert outside the Vaults, pint in hand with a cheery 'hello' as we passed. He was such a fixture of Uppingham but in a sincere, quiet way. A generous man - always able to assist with any fundraising - especially for local good causes. We will miss him
